Made from Italian Plateaux with a unique half saddle hand cut German Ebonite stem with an integral tenon. A large Volcano with beautiful straight grain on the sides, and straight grain with some fall out on the front and back of the bowl. The grain is flowing from very nice birdseye top and bottom. The shank has some especially beautiful straight to birdseye grain transitions between the sides and top. Very clean wood with a little of the natural plateaux left on the bottom. I rated this a grade B and not an A because of the way the plateaux on the bottom took the stain, but I don’t find this detracts at all from the over all beauty from this very fine piece.
